Honda Malaysia today introduced the CR-V Black Edition, a new variant for its undisputed leader in the Sport Utility Vehicle (SUV) segment*. Available exclusively in 1.5L TC-P 2WD with Crystal Black Pearl colour, the CR-V Black Edition continues to build excitement in the market and the competitive SUV segment. The CR-V Black Edition stands out with its bold and rugged appearance, combined with Next Generation Advanced Safety Technology and premium features. Priced at RM161,913.99**, the introduction of the CR-V Black Edition expands the line-up of the class-leading SUV, adding a new option to the existing three variants of 2.0L 2WD, 1.5L TC-P 2WD and 1.5L TC-P 4WD.
Honda Malaysia Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer, Ms. Madoka Chujo said, “The CR-V was the first Completely Knocked-Down (CKD) model in Honda Malaysia’s line-up in 2003. Since then, the CR-V has consistently been well accepted by the Malaysian market with more than 108,000 units sold to date. The 5th Generation CR-V, which was launched in 2017, has maintained the positive sales momentum with a significant contribution of over 43,000 units sold to the total sales of the model. The CR-V continues to exceed our expectations with encouraging sales and is dominating the Non-National SUV segment with 24% of market share as of August 2021.
The popularity of the CR-V attests to the model’s attractive design, elegant interior and exceptional driving performance. In addition, the CR-V never ceased to impress the market with its innovative features, which it was the first model to introduce the Next Generation Advanced Safety Technology – Honda SENSING. The CR-V Black Edition features all dark finishes that embody stylishness and absolute confidence. Enhancing the CR-V Black Edition’s aggressive look are the New Black Front Grille with Honda Signature LED Headlights and New Black Front Bumper Garnish. Meanwhile, the CR-V Black Edition’s New Black Rear Bumper Garnish further highlights its masculine styling at the rear design. The exterior upgrades of the CR-V Black Edition alongside the 18-inch Alloy Wheels are finished in high-quality piano black that complements the model’s new body colour.
The striking black tone finishing of the CR-V Black Edition is extended from the outside into the interior of the car where its Steering Wheel, 7-inch Interactive Thin Film Transistor (TFT) meter and air conditioning garnish are finished in piano black. Adding to the elegance, the centre console, dashboard and door trim of the CR-V Black Edition sport a black wood garnish and at the same time, the new headlining is accented by black colour finishing. The all-black theme is also carried through to the seats, and the front seats have a “Black Edition” embroidery.
Under the hood of the 5th Generation CR-V, it is powered by a 1.5L VTEC Turbocharged engine that generates power output of 193PS and maximum torque of 243Nm, which is more powerful than a 2.4L engine performance to provide exhilarating driving experience while maintaining fuel efficiency.
