Subaru Japan\u00a0had announced that production of the outgoing WRX STI<\/a> had ended and with it the end of the legendary\u00a0EJ20 boxer\u00a0engine. The EJ20, which replaced the EA engine, started off in the first generation of the Legacy in 1989. Over time, it was offered with other Subaru models and also powered racing cars competing in events like the World Rally Championship<\/a> and Nurburgring<\/a> 24 Hours.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
